Door County Walleye Fishing

Door County Walleye fishing has been going great over the past couple of weeks now finding all walleyes post-spawn and feeding up and putting the weight back on. Depending on the day and of course the weather we have been finding success both trolling and casting for walleyes, on cloudy windy days we have been finding the fish to be active in the shallow water chasing bait around where we have been successful trolling minnow baits along with casting soft plastic baits. We have also been successful in casting for walleyes in deeper water using hair jigs along with lipless crankbaits during the day, the key to our success is moving around a lot and looking for fish, and working those areas thoroughly. Night trolling has also been good for us targeting walleyes in water depths ranging from 9 to 15 feet of water using minnow style baits..
