With this spring being very cold with temperatures well below normal and weather changing frequently it has made it challenging to be able to have any consistency to the fishing. Depending on our location where we have been fishing for our walleyes we have been both casting and trolling for our fish. some days we will be able to find them shallow and actively feeding other days we have to fish large expansive areas picking up a fish here and there.
As far as the casting techniques we have been finding success using jigs and soft plastics and our trolling presentations have been producing best trolling crawler harnesses in water depths from 20 feet of water or less. Both of these techniques go they will continue to produce throughout the entire open water season depending on the weather conditions for that day.
