Well as we approach the end to this Memorial day weekend I must say we had fantastic weather for a change and it made for some fantastic Smallmouth Bass fishing. We found lots of bass moving into the shallow water the past couple of days and they were responding well for us using Rapala Jerk baits along with getting many fish on soft plastics such as tube jigs along with some fish being caught using wacky worms.Depending on where you are fishing we should have some great pre- spawn bass fishing for a while yet before they start moving on to spawning beds. The month of June will provide some fantastic bass fishing opportunities with opportunities at not only catching a true trophy bass but great numbers of fish being available to catch.
Walleye fishing here in Door County over the past few weeks has been very good with great catches of walleyes coming on most fishing trips. We have been finding our best success casting for walleyes along shoreline breaks during the morning and throughout the mid day with many quality size walleyes being caught each day. Over the past week we have also had a good trolling bite happening a bit south of Sturgeon Bay using crawler harnesses behind planer boards in water depths from 16 to 22 feet of water. As the weather continues to get warmer and water temps get warmer also the walleye fishing will only get better.
