Green Bay Walleye Fishing April 19th

We started out this morning fishing in shallow water in Green Bay casting for walleyes in water depths from 6 to 9 feet of water. After fishing for an hour and only catching three walleyes we decided to move to deeper water and troll some crank baits. Shortly after getting started we were in to our first fish having a double one fish that was 30.5 inches and another being 28 inches. We made three short trolling passes and caught 14 walleyes and all were caught on Rapala Husky Jerks.

With all the recent warm weather we have had a lot of the fish in the southern bay along with the west shore of Green Bay have completed their spawn. We continue to find great success fishing for Green Bay Walleyes using casting presentations along with trolling presentations. We have been finding great success fishing in water depths from 8 to 20 feet of water. This shallow water fishing should continue for quite some time here on the Bay of Green Bay.

Well yesterdays weather on the Bay of Green Bay was far from pleasant with cold temps along with gusty north east winds and snow falling most of the day it was far from comfortable.Despite the bad weather conditions we were still able to catch some nice walleyes.

We were casting for walleyes on the Bay of Green Bay in shallow water in depths from 5 to 10 feet of water using lipless crank baits along with some hair jigsĀ  in colors of chartreuse. The shallow water Green Bay walleye fishing will continue for quite some time yet usually going through out the month of May.

Well now that most of the ice is off of Green Bay the Walleye fishing is under way. We have been targeting pre spawn walleyes that are making their way towards the areas that they will be spawning such as rivers and the areas outside of the river mouths. We have been having great success casting various different baits for the Green Bay Walleyes such as soft plastic baits along with Blade baits and lipless crank baits. There will be plenty of time here the next month or so to take advantage of some fantastic Green Bay Walleye fishing in the shallow water. Right now is the best time to take advantage of pre-spawn walleyes so if you are looking at catching that trophy walleye it is time to get out on Green Bay.
