Fishing Door County Green Bay Walleye Fishing

We continue to catch walleyes here in Door County and other areas in the southern portion of Green Bay trolling both crank baits along with trolling crawler harnesses. on days that the wind is blowing harder we have had good success using crank baits on Green Bay and we have also been finding success using crawler harnesses at a slower speed on a daily basis. The Door County and Green Bay walleye fishing should continue to be good well in to the Fall fishing season here on the Bay of green Bay.

It still seems like summer does not want to settle in here in Door County with some warm days followed by cold fronts that drop water temps and put the fish in a sluggish mood. We are catching some quality walleyes here in Door County but every day is different with all the changing weather conditions. We are also catching walleyes in several areas in the southern portion of Green Bay with some fish relating to mid basin areas suspended along with some fish relating to shallow water reefs in Green Bay. Our approach has been trolling crankbaits along with also trolling crawler harnesses in both of these areas on the Bay of Green Bay.

Well with the Green Bay Walleye fishing being very inconsistence over the past couple of months the action is beginning to pick up. With the water temps on Green Bay warming up along with the lower numbers of bait fish around the walleyes have been cooperating more. We have been trolling for the Green Bay walleyes with crankbaits such as Storm Smash Shads along with Rapala Husky Jerks and also Rapala Tail Dancers. Our best action has been fishing deeper water in depths from 22 to 30 feet of water but on days when the wind is blowing we have had good success fishing shallow water reefs on the Bay of Green Bay.

The small mouth bass in Door County are well into there summer patterns utilizing deeper water along with many fish still being present in water depths from 5 to 15 feet of water. Our best approach has been using soft plastics such as Trigger X tubes on 1/8th oz VMC jig heads along with also finding on some days here in Door County when the wind is blowing the fish have been responding to Terminator spinner baits fished fast over the weeds or rocky structure.
