We fished walleyes both this morning and at night. This mornings trip had a variety of species including Walleyes, Lake Trout and Northern Pike. With the Northern Pike proving to be difficult to get in the boat, we were able to catch several nice walleyes and 1 Lake Trout jigging with soft plastics and hair jigs.
Walleye and bonus Lake Trout
With the lack of winds this evening in combination of crystal clear water, it made for difficult fishing. After a few hours of fishing, the end result was a few walleyes hooked up.
Walleyes continue to provide good action for us nightly here in Door County and should continue to go strong for quite some time yet plenty of time to get in on the action.
The walleye bite at night is still going strong on the Bay of Green Bay. We put 11 fish in the boat Saturday Night. Here is a photo of the catch of the night.
Catch of the Night
After fishing in Door County Friday night we went over to the west side of Green Bay for the weekend. Our targeted species were Walleyes which we caught plenty of I believe we had 29 walleyes on Saturday along with a bonus Musky and a couple of Northern Pike. With water temps in the mid 40 degree range we found fish that were both prespawn and fish that had already spawned. Spring time is a fantastic time for catching both numbers of Walleyes and big Walleyes in shallow water. Now is the time to take advantage of fantastic spring time Walleye fishing on the Bay of Green Bay.
