Well we are now into the month of October and the weather feels much more like early September. October can be a really great month for fishing Smallmouth Bass here in Door County but so much of it is depending on cooler weather and cooling water temperatures which is just not happening yet. The Bass right now are kind of in between there summer patterns and there Fall patterns with some fish still relatively shallow with many other fish using deeper water but they seem to be pretty spread out and we are not finding large schools of fish concentrated yet. With cooler weather bound to show up soon the Fall fishing will only get better and better.
The Green Bay walleye fishing has been going well with some days being better than others depending on the weather and conditions. we have been fishing different locations on the Bay from areas to the South along with fishing areas in the northern portion of the Bay in Door County. We have been finding success fishing for the walleyes both casting along with trolling, as far as casting goes we have been finding success using Rapala Rippin raps along with some other baits and our trolling techniques have consisted of both using crawler harnesses along with Rapala Husky Jerks. The walleyes should hold in there summer patterns for several weeks yet so take some time to get out and have a chance at that trophy Walleye.
