As we arrived at the location where we were all meeting this morning we were greeted with 10 degrees below zero air temps but not much winds early. After getting out to the ice houses we found the fishing to be a bit slow with a very strong current flowing to the north. We have found this season that with the strong currents we have had less success but as the current slows or stalls we get much better action. As the day went on we still never had great action just catching a few fish here and a few there with about one hour being pretty fast action. We did manage to catch a good mess of fish today but we had to work more for them but everyone had fun and had a great time and we will be back at them tomorrow.
We enjoyed another wonderful day on the ice fishing in Door County catching many quality Whitefish with well over a full limit catch with many fish being released. The morning started with no current being present but plenty of fish but they were being a bit picky. As the day went on the current began to push from the north and the fish became more active but you really had to feel the fish due to the current pushing your line. Our best baits were once again the #3 Rapala jigging raps and the jigging Shad Raps in colors of gold and perch.
